At a glance

Use this guide when

Setting up merchant payment processing, reviewing platform transaction fees, or reconciling bank payouts.

Best practice

Understand your plan fee basis (discount-adjusted subtotal before tax/tips) and separate Stripe fees.

Watch for

Platform fees range from 1.25% (Flex) down to 0.10% (Scale); fee rates lock at checkout creation.

01

Connect your business bank account with Stripe

  1. Go to Settings → Payments and click "Connect with Stripe".
  2. Complete the Stripe onboarding form with your legal business name, EIN, and banking routing/account numbers.
  3. Upon returning to the dashboard, your Stripe status will display "Connected & Active".
02

What a payment costs you: Complete fee schedule

  • Platform Fee Rates by Plan: Flex plan is 125 bps (1.25%), Solo plan is 50 bps (0.50%), Growth plan is 25 bps (0.25%), and Scale plan is 10 bps (0.10%).
  • Stripe Processing Fee: Stripe charges a separate standard processing fee (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction) directly to your connected account.
  • Platform Fee Basis: The platform fee is calculated on the discount-adjusted eligible service subtotal. Sales tax and customer tips are strictly excluded from the platform fee basis.
  • Fee Rate Locking: The platform fee rate locks at checkout session creation, ensuring rate stability for each specific transaction.
03

Reconciling your three balances

To reconcile payouts, compare: (1) Invoice Gross Amount paid by customer, minus (2) Platform Application Fee and Stripe processing fee, equals (3) Net Payout transferred to your checking account on a standard 2-business-day rolling schedule.

Completion check

Confirm before moving on

Use these checks to make sure the dashboard and the real-world workflow agree.

  • Stripe Connect account is connected with active payout status.
  • Platform fee rates and separate Stripe processing fees are understood.
  • Test card transaction processes and displays in the Payments ledger.

Troubleshooting

When the workflow doesn’t look right

First customer payment has not reached bank account.

Stripe applies an initial 7-14 business day verification period for newly connected accounts. Subsequent transfers occur on a 2-day rolling window.

Stripe onboarding shows restricted.

Open Settings → Payments to review requested ID verification documents in the Stripe Express portal.
