Understanding Payout Timing & Verification
Customer payments made via debit card, credit card, or ACH clear into your linked bank account via Stripe Connect. Deposit timing depends on your account age, country, payment method, and risk profile:
- First Payout Timeline (7–14 Days): Stripe applies an initial 7 to 14-day holding period to your very first collected customer payment. This window is standard across payment processors to verify bank ownership, confirm business identity, and mitigate fraud risk.
- Subsequent Rolling Schedule (2 Business Days in US): After initial account verification, subsequent card charges typically batch and transfer on a 2-business-day rolling schedule for standard US bank accounts. ACH direct debits typically take 4–5 business days to clear before payout.
- Identity & Document Verification: If a payout status is pending or held, open Settings > Payments > Stripe Express Dashboard to review whether a photo ID, tax document, or bank statement verification is required.
- Weekend & Holiday Banking Processing: Payments batched after Friday 5:00 PM ET bank cutoff windows roll over into Monday morning Federal Reserve processing.
